  • Statistical risk adjustment refers to a collection of analytic methods designed to separate the relationships of outcomes with care provided from the relationship of outcomes with natural progression of disease and disability, which is critical to accurate outcome analysis. One of the major purposes of OASIS is to provide data items needed for risk adjustment. In essence, the general intent of risk adjustment is to compensate or adjust for differences in case mix or risk factors (between agency and a comparison sample) that should be taken into consideration if outcomes are to be compared validly. Risk adjustment compensates or controls for the potential influence of case mix variables (i.e., risk factors) that can affect outcomes.

2017 PROPer OASIS C2 Risk Adjustment

Ensure your front line staff consistently and correctly capture OASIS data!

This educational series uniquely provides clinicians with OASIS into 4 key areas, making the “big picture” of this data set relevant and understandable:

Process measures

Risk adjustment

Outcome measures

Payment

When leadership loses sleep over latest agency publicly reported outcomes and Star Ratings numbers, OASIS training continues. . . . and there are many available options when it comes to OASIS education . However, do training options really speak to the front line clinician?

OASIS C2 data is the PROP that drives an agency forward.  If one of the blades of a prop is not working properly, the boat will still move forward, but will lose power and efficiency. Series and individual sessions are provided as recordings and are priced per agency.  Keep and use as often as you need to train your current and new staff.
